Publisher disclosure: NOVA publishes this guide and benefits if readers download NOVA. We rank Nightly first, Glow second, and NOVA third using the dated methodology below. NOVA is first only for the narrower privacy-plus-wallet-intelligence use case. This is not a source-code audit, a test of every dApp, or investment advice.

The technical constraint

Direct iPhone Safari signing needs a wallet extension

Solana Mobile's current web-browser documentation says Mobile Wallet Adapter does not work in iOS Safari. It identifies a Safari Web Extension wallet as the direct-browser workaround. A wallet's built-in browser is a different workflow: the user leaves Safari and opens the site inside the wallet app. [1]

Safari extensionThe supported dApp stays in Safari while the installed wallet extension handles connection and approval.
In-app browserThe user opens the dApp inside the wallet's browser. Phantom and Solflare document this mobile path.
Compatibility is not universalThe site must support the wallet connection path. “Supported dApps” is the accurate promise—not every site.

Methodology

How the ranking was made

Product facts and U.S. App Store records were checked August 29, 2026. The ranking weights the capability named in the query first, then current maintenance evidence and the clarity of the surrounding wallet fit.

  1. Direct Safari evidence: a current first-party page or App Store listing must document a Safari extension.
  2. Release freshness: current U.S. version and release date are shown, not treated as permanent facts.
  3. Solana fit: the wallet must explicitly support Solana and explain its iPhone dApp path.
  4. Distinct use case: a real user fit matters more than a sponsor relationship or unsupported “safest” claim.
  5. Limits: this review did not test every dApp, inspect every implementation, or compare closed-source internals.

The ranking

Best Safari-extension Solana wallets for iPhone

01
Best broad Safari fitActive release

Nightly Wallet

Nightly ranks first for users who want a currently updated Safari extension across a broad wallet surface. Its official Safari page describes iOS and macOS support across 67-plus chains, including Solana, while its App Store listing documents Ledger, Keystone, social login, and Safari connection support. [2] [3]

Choose it when
  • You want one Safari wallet for Solana and many other ecosystems.
  • Hardware-wallet options and recent release activity matter.
Look elsewhere when
  • You want a Solana-only experience with less multichain surface.
  • You prioritize NOVA's privacy-transfer and tracking combination.
02
Best independent Solana evidenceiOS 15+

Glow

Glow ranks second because current Solana Mobile documentation independently names it as an iOS wallet with Safari Web Extension signing, and Glow's listing describes connecting to major Solana sites without leaving Safari. Its current U.S. version is older, but the direct evidence is stronger than publisher-owned proof. [1] [5]

Choose it when
  • You want a Solana-focused Safari wallet that supports iOS 15.
  • You value independently documented Safari signing plus Ledger, staking, collectibles, and simulation.
Look elsewhere when
  • Recent App Store release activity is decisive.
  • You want NOVA's privacy tools or Nightly's multichain breadth.
03
Best privacy + intelligence fitPublisher's product

NOVA

NOVA ranks third overall and first only for the narrower user who wants supported Solana dApps in Safari alongside privacy-preserving transfers, clear transaction approvals, public-wallet tracking, and portfolio/liquidity intelligence. Its current listing names Safari; the implementation review remains publisher-owned evidence. [4]

Choose it when
  • You want Safari access plus a documented privacy-preserving Solana transfer flow.
  • You track public wallets, on-chain activity, portfolios, or liquidity positions.
Look elsewhere when
  • You need Nightly's broader documented Safari chain coverage.
  • You prefer Glow's independent Solana Mobile evidence or lower iOS 15 minimum.

A different mobile path

Why Phantom and Solflare are not ranked for direct Safari use

Phantom remains a strong general-purpose wallet, but its official support page says mobile dApp connections work only inside Phantom's in-app browser—not Safari, Chrome, or another mobile browser. [6] Solflare's mobile guide likewise instructs users to open a site inside Solflare's mobile browser. [7]

Practical distinction: choose Phantom or Solflare if their in-app browser fits your workflow. Choose a Safari-extension wallet only when staying in Safari is the actual requirement. Absence from this Safari ranking is not a claim that a wallet is worse overall.

Setup

How to enable a wallet extension in Safari on iPhone

  1. Install the wallet from its verified U.S. App Store developer page.
  2. Open the wallet, create or import the intended account, and finish its own setup flow.
  3. On iOS 26, open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions, select the wallet extension, and turn on Allow Extension.
  4. If you use Safari profiles, enable the extension only for the profiles where you intend to use it.
  5. Open the exact dApp domain in Safari, choose the wallet, and inspect the connection and every later approval.

Apple documents the extension settings path and advises users to understand every installed extension. [8] Menus can differ on earlier iOS versions.

NOVA fit check

When NOVA is—and is not—the right Safari wallet

NOVA fits

  • An iPhone user who wants supported Solana dApps to connect from Safari.
  • A user who also values privacy-preserving transfers and clear approvals.
  • A user who follows public wallets, activity, portfolio value, or liquidity positions.

Choose another wallet when

  • You need broad documented Safari coverage across dozens of chains: start with Nightly.
  • You need iOS 15 support or Glow's established Solana-only workflow.
  • You prefer Phantom or Solflare's in-app browser and do not need to remain in Safari.

FAQ

Solana wallets and Safari on iPhone

Which Solana wallet works directly in Safari on iPhone?

Nightly, Glow, and NOVA currently document Safari-extension support. Nightly is the strongest broad fit here, Glow has the strongest independent Solana-specific evidence, and NOVA ranks third overall while remaining strongest for the narrower Safari-plus-privacy-and-intelligence fit.

Can Phantom connect from iPhone Safari?

Phantom's current support page says no: mobile dApp connections work inside Phantom's in-app browser. That can still be a good workflow, but it is not direct Safari extension signing.

Does a Safari extension make every Solana dApp compatible?

No. The dApp must support the wallet's connection path, and individual sites or transactions can still fail. Verify the exact domain and use the wallet's supported-app guidance.

Is NOVA the best Solana wallet overall?

No wallet is universally best. NOVA is #3 for this direct-Safari comparison and #1 only for the defined privacy-plus-wallet-intelligence fit. Phantom is a stronger general default, and Solflare is stronger for staking and hardware depth in the broader comparison.

Self-custody and dApp use involve phishing, implementation, provider, transaction, and recovery risks. Never share a seed phrase or private key. A browser extension changes convenience, not the finality or public nature of ordinary Solana transactions.
