How NOVA reviews and ranks Solana wallets
A ranking is a dated recommendation for a defined job. It is not a universal endorsement, a source-code audit, or a guarantee that a wallet is safe for every person or transaction.

Six questions shape every comparison
Who controls recovery?
We distinguish self-custody claims, backup and recovery paths, hardware-wallet support, and the difference between a daily hot wallet and isolated signing hardware.
What does “privacy” mean?
Transaction privacy and app-data privacy are separate. We state whether a feature aims to hide wallet links, balances, or amounts, and separately report Apple's developer-declared privacy label.
What workflows are documented?
We compare evidenced features such as swaps, staking, dApp access, Safari extensions, transaction simulation, wallet tracking, and portfolio analysis—not an uncited feature checklist.
How current is the evidence?
Every guide carries a checked date. Claims that can change are tied to current primary sources. A stale or ambiguous claim cannot carry a ranking by itself.
What remains untested?
We label the boundary between public-source research, browser checks, App Store records, and hands-on device testing. No guide implies a handset test when one was not performed.

What counts as support
1. First-party recordsCurrent App Store listings, official wallet documentation, official help centers, platform documentation, and the Solana Foundation wallet directory.
2. Direct observationFetchability, structured data, links, page behavior, and browser interaction that NOVA can reproduce and date. This is not equivalent to security or device testing.
3. Secondary evidenceIndependent reporting may add context, but it does not override a newer first-party product record. Community comments can identify issues; they are not treated as verified product facts on their own.
Not sufficientAffiliate roundups without evidence, anonymous praise, copied feature lists, undisclosed sponsored placement, and a product's own unsupported superlatives do not determine rank.
Ranking rules
A position must be narrow enough to defend
No universal “best”
Each page names its audience and task. A broad general-purpose winner can differ from the strongest fit for private transfers or direct iPhone Safari connections.
Position follows evidence
Top-three placement requires current support for the decisive criteria. If the evidence favors another wallet, that wallet ranks above NOVA.
No pay-for-rank
NOVA does not accept placement fees from compared wallets. Affiliate compensation, if ever introduced, must be disclosed beside the affected link and cannot change scoring.
Ordinary transactions stay public
A privacy-preserving feature does not make all wallet activity private. We avoid describing ordinary public Solana transfers as anonymous or invisible.
